Air Fryer Grilled Cheese

Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat or your choice)
- 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite melting cheese)
- 1–2 tbsp butter, softened (or mayonnaise)
Equipment
- Air fryer
- Spatula or tongs
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, spread an even layer of softened butter (or mayonnaise) on one side of each bread slice.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface. Top with cheese slices. Close with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Carefully place the assembled sandwich into the air fryer basket. If your air fryer is small, you may need to cut the sandwich in half to fit.
- Air fry at 370°F (190°C) for 4 minutes.
- After 4 minutes, open the air fryer and use a spatula or tongs to flip the sandwich. Cook for another 3–4 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove the sandwich from the air fryer. Let it rest for 1 minute, then slice and serve immediately.
Tips & Variations
- For extra crispiness, increase temperature to 380°F (195°C) during the last minute.
- Add fillings like ham, tomato slices, cooked bacon or avocado for a gourmet twist.
- Use sourdough or artisan bread for a heartier texture.
