You’re not fat! Your stomach is bloated and here’s how to get rid of it!

There’s nothing appealing about a bloated belly that feels like a giant balloon about to burst, not to mention all the gas and discomfort. Bloating is common after heavy meals, but for some people, it’s a normal part of everyday life.

What causes your belly to bloat?

1. Insufficient water consumption

Dehydration is a major cause of many health problems. Excessive coffee and alcohol consumption also contribute to the problem. When was the last time you drank 6 to 8 glasses of water during the day?

When the body lacks water, it uses fluids from its tissues, which means bloating can occur as a result of water retention. So, try to drink more water.

2. Constipation

Constipation is a rather unpleasant problem, and it indicates that you need more fiber-rich foods. Gas that gets trapped behind your stool isn’t going to stay still for long, you know.

Increase fiber gradually, otherwise it will make the problem worse. Eat more healthy salads. Indulge in smoothies and berries. Sounds delicious, right?

3. Chronic stress

Believe it or not, stress can cause bloating. When you’re stressed, your digestive system can’t function properly. Your bloating can be caused by constipation and an upset stomach. So, try to let go of negative emotions, and you’ll solve your problem for good.

4. Eating too quickly

Partially chewed food is digested slowly, and you feel bloated. It’s as simple as that. So, take small bites and chew well.

5. Carbohydrates

Excessive carbohydrate consumption can contribute to your bloated stomach. Consider eating low-carb foods and drastically reduce your sugar and alcohol intake. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
