400g beef (rump, tenderloin, or flank steak), thinly sliced
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional, for more flavor)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (sunflower or peanut)
Pepper, to taste
A few sprigs of chives or cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and cornstarch.
Add the beef strips to the mixture and let marinate for 15 minutes.
Heat the oil in a skillet over high heat.
Add the onions and garlic and sauté until golden brown. Add the marinated beef and cook until cooked through.
Season with pepper to taste.
Garnish with chives or cilantro before serving.
Notes
Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
You can adjust the amount of soy sauce to your liking.
For a spicy version, add chili flakes.
