Constipation can also be treated with natural solutions. A dietitian reveals three remedies to try. These are foods already in your kitchen. You don’t have to look far.
Constipation is a difficult intestinal disorder to manage on a daily basis. This condition is often accompanied by abdominal pain of varying degrees of intensity. To relieve it, there are medications, but also natural solutions. Dietitian Flore Dumas, better known as happydiet.therapy, invites you to discover three of them. These are foods, and unlike psyllium, which we discussed in a previous article, they are more readily available because they are already present in our kitchens.
The dietitian explains that it’s “rich in fiber, especially soluble fiber.” This nutrient is essential for fighting the disease because “soluble fiber forms a gel in the intestine that facilitates stool passage.” She adds that the presence of actinidin in kiwi is very important. In fact, “it’s an enzyme that helps break down proteins, aiding their digestion.”
2. Coffee to stimulate the intestines
The healthcare professional admits that it’s not her favorite food for constipation. For this reason, she recommends “not consuming too much of it.” She does, however, acknowledge that “caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant. This caffeine can increase stimulation of the intestinal muscles and promote peristalsis, or bowel movements.” That’s not all, caffeine also has “a diuretic effect, promoting water absorption in the urine, rather than in the colon. Consequently, it will leave enough water for stool formation.”
Vitamin C for its connection
“Sosterrà il sistema immunitario”, initiates the dietologist. Indicates “you can consume up to 6 g per day, but do not exceed this dose”. In short, consider the usefulness of vitamin C. “Promote the formation of collagen, which is an important protein that helps connect it to the pareti of the intestine”. Adding to vitamin C, “it is a very important anti-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory agent. A healthy gut is a healthy gut.”
